Following Juliano’s announcement, Daniel Lian, the head of finance at dYdX, revealed that many talented individuals had left the company and encouraged other organizations to reach out if they were seeking exceptional talent.

In July, there were discussions about the potential sale of a portion of its derivatives trading software, with Wintermute Trading and Selini Capital reportedly being interested buyers. However, the exact details of the sale were not disclosed. Moreover, the company faced a security breach on its v3 website, where an attacker installed a token-draining program.
Juliano’s decision to return as CEO was driven by the realization that founder-led leadership was essential for dYdX. He emphasized that the founder’s passion and commitment cannot be replicated by anyone else and recognized the need for strong leadership to navigate the competitive landscape and provide clear direction for the company’s future.
