Chainlink, a prominent provider of data feeds for blockchain-based smart contracts, has launched a revolutionary app called “Transporter” that enables users to submit and monitor cross-chain transactions. This groundbreaking application is built on Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), which serves as the industry standard for cross-chain interoperability.
Described as a “hyper-secure bridging app,” Transporter leverages Chainlink CCIP to offer unprecedented security for users seeking to transfer tokens across different blockchains. The app supports token transfers across various blockchains, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, and WEMIX.
Sergey Nazarov, the co-founder of Chainlink, expressed his excitement about Transporter, stating that it simplifies the utilization of Chainlink CCIP’s security benefits for transferring large token values and critical messages across chains. He emphasized that the blockchain industry has long needed a secure method for moving both value and data across chains, and Transporter fulfills that need.
Additionally, Chainlink has introduced a new token transfer mechanism for CCIP, enabling the cross-chain transfer of native ETH through WETH token pools. This implementation marks the first instance of a lock and unlock mechanism within CCIP, as noted by the company.
To ensure users’ peace of mind, the Transporter app offers an intuitive user interface and round-the-clock global support. It features a visual tracker that provides real-time visibility into the status of cross-chain transactions. Users can track their assets and messages throughout the entire transaction process using both the Transporter app and the Chainlink CCIP Explorer.
Notably, the Transporter app does not impose any additional fees. Users only need to cover the regular fees associated with using CCIP, which include gas costs for completing transactions on the destination chain and fees paid to CCIP service providers.
Chainlink revealed that venture capital firms Fourth Revolution Capital and Moonrock Capital are among the early adopters of the Transporter application.
