Scammers are targeting users of Ledger hardware wallets with phishing emails in an attempt to steal their cryptocurrency. The fraudulent emails claim that users need to activate a fake security feature called “Ledger Clear Signing” in order to continue using their devices securely. The phishing campaign, which has a deadline of October 31, directs users to a malicious website through a link provided in the email. The goal is to deceive users into providing access to their Ledger wallets, allowing the scammers to drain their crypto holdings. Phishing attacks in the crypto space are becoming more frequent and costly, with millions of dollars being lost to such scams. In September alone, over 10,000 individuals lost $46 million to phishing scams. It is crucial for users to be cautious and avoid clicking on suspicious links to protect their assets.
