In 2022, it is claimed that Trump made over $1 million from the sale of his self-branded NFTs. These digital souvenirs, known as the “Mugshot Edition,” were first introduced in December as a way for Trump to profit from his arrest in August 2023 for attempting to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results. The former U.S. president had initially promoted the NFTs as a unique opportunity, with buyers of over 100 NFTs receiving special rewards during his Mar-a-Lago Gala dinner. Recently, the team behind Trump Digital Trading Cards revealed that a limited number of the “Mugshot Edition” NFTs have been officially recorded as Bitcoin ordinals.
