Fleek Partners with Polygon Labs to Enhance Cloud Services
A collaboration between the edge-optimized cloud platform, Fleek, and the blockchain developer, Polygon Labs, has been announced. The focus of this strategic partnership is to create high-performing, permissionless web services tailored to the requirements of Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) projects using Fleek’s new on-chain cloud infrastructure.
Fleek has introduced Edge Functions, its first public testnet, which features CDN (Content Delivery Network) and JavaScript Runtime services. This testnet will showcase the capabilities of Fleek’s infrastructure in action.
Harrison Hines, CEO of Fleek, emphasized the importance of developing web services that not only meet the demands of modern developers and users but also prioritize decentralization, self-sovereignty, performance, cost-effectiveness, and developer experience.
One of the key advantages of Fleek’s solution is the potential to reduce cloud costs by up to 80%. By leveraging its algorithmic operation of a global node network, Fleek eliminates the human-related factors that contribute significantly to cloud expenses. Additionally, Fleek’s infrastructure eliminates the need for extensive DevOps and maintenance work typically associated with platforms like AWS.
Speed is another critical factor in the collaboration between Fleek and Polygon Labs. During testnet performance trials, Fleek demonstrated that its infrastructure outperformed traditional cloud platforms, such as AWS Lambdas and Vercel Serverless, in terms of network responsiveness.
The Polygon CDK, a widely used open-source toolkit for blockchain developers, has been instrumental in launching new L2 chains on Ethereum. Many prominent projects, including IDEX, WIREX, Palm Network, and more, utilize the Polygon CDK.
Overall, this collaboration between Fleek and Polygon Labs aims to provide a more efficient, decentralized, and high-performing alternative to traditional cloud platforms. By leveraging blockchain technology, the partners seek to enhance coordination, alignment, and incentivization within network activities, ultimately leading to better products for users.
