Anime Foundation, in collaboration with Animoca Brands, MyAnimeList, and San FranTokyo, has announced its official launch. The community-driven cultural protocol aims to bring together anime and manga fans, creators, studios, IP holders, and brands from around the world. By bridging web2 and web3 platforms, Anime Foundation seeks to create new opportunities and experiences for its community.
The partnership with Animoca Brands Japan and MyAnimeList will leverage their industry networks and deep community engagement to attract talent and expertise from the traditional anime and manga industry. Meanwhile, Animoca Brands and San FranTokyo will utilize their broad web3 ecosystems and blockchain technologies to enhance fan engagement and create new opportunities.
To further support its vision, Anime Foundation has also partnered with Mocaverse, which offers a growth network that includes systems for Account, Identity, Reputation, and PointFi. Through this collaboration, Anime Foundation will introduce Anime ID, a decentralized identifier and reputation layer, using Mocaverse’s Realm Network SDK. This will enable users to transition into web3 and explore new monetization models and community-building initiatives using blockchain technology.
Animoca Brands Japan has shown its commitment to the anime and manga community by investing JPY¥300 million in MyAnimeList, one of the largest anime and manga community sites and databases worldwide, with 16 million registered members.
