The French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) has put the spotlight on ByBit, highlighting that the cryptocurrency exchange does not possess a license as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) in France. In light of this, investors have been advised to take necessary measures to safeguard their assets that have been invested on the platform. It is worth noting that the AMF had previously cautioned against Bitget, another crypto exchange, due to similar concerns. Bitget had been blacklisted by the AMF in November 2023. ByBit has also faced additional scrutiny from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong, which classified the exchange as “suspicious” in March. The SFC listed certain investment products offered by ByBit as being of suspicious nature.
