Jump Crypto, a blockchain infrastructure firm, has unveiled a bug bounty program that offers Solana developers the chance to earn up to $1 million by identifying vulnerabilities in the upcoming “Firedancer” independent validator client. The program, powered by Immunefi, will run for 42 days from July 10 to August 21, 2024. The Firedancer validator client is expected to enhance the performance of the Solana network and outperform Google’s data transfer protocol, QUIC. Cantelope Peel, a pseudonymous engineer associated with Jump Crypto, is leading the development of Firedancer v0.1. The bug bounty program aims to test the Solana consensus and fork choice algorithms. Participants must complete the registration process, including providing know-your-client details. Bugs discovered in Firedancer v0.1 will be promptly investigated and addressed within 24 hours on weekdays. Immunefi plans to publish an event-specific leaderboard and bug reports after the program concludes.
