Internet Computer has announced the launch of ckUSDC Sepolia, an ICP copy of the USDC token in the ckERC20 token standard. The testing version of the ckETH minter on Internet Computer’s mainnet has been upgraded to include the Sepolia version of the USDC token. Users can obtain Sepolia ETH and Sepolia USDC from various online faucets and use them to mint ckETH and ckUSDC, respectively. While ckETH is not required to deposit USDC, it is necessary to withdraw ckUSDC and receive USDC back. The ckSepoliaETH minter will use a portion of the ckSepoliaETH to cover transfer transactions on the Sepolia testnet. The project is still in development, so users may encounter bugs and the canister’s state may reset upon upgrades. Developers interested in supporting conversions between ERC20 and ck-twin tokens are encouraged to start experimenting with ckUSDC. There is currently no user-friendly front-end available, so users should be comfortable using dfx calls. In addition, DFINITY aims to integrate the Bitcoin network with the Internet Computer using Chain Key cryptography.
