Golden State Warriors have chosen Coinbase as their official cryptocurrency partner, marking the return of crypto companies to major U.S. sponsorships. The move follows the collapse of FTX and signals a growing confidence in digital assets. As part of the agreement, Coinbase’s branding will be prominently displayed throughout the Warriors’ Chase Center, with on-chain giveaways and interactive game-day experiences aimed at enhancing fan engagement. The partnership also includes the release of limited-edition merchandise featuring the Coinbase logo, further integrating the brand with the Warriors’ image. This collaboration expands on Coinbase’s existing relationship with the NBA and reflects a broader resurgence in crypto sponsorships within U.S. sports. According to Coinbase’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kate Rouch, the exclusive partnership with the Golden State Warriors offers fans accessible and enjoyable ways to engage with crypto. The financial terms and duration of the deal were not disclosed, but the partnership is significant in light of the renewed interest in sports sponsorships by crypto companies. In addition to the Warriors’ engagement with Coinbase, other sports clubs are exploring partnerships with blockchain firms. These include French football club Paris Saint-Germain, Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami, and UEFA, the governing body of European soccer. Additionally, Crypto.com has secured naming rights for the former Staples Center and has entered into a sponsorship deal with the UFC, as well as partnerships with the Philadelphia 76ers and Formula 1 Racing, showcasing the growing influence of crypto companies in the sports industry.
